This is a t-shirt design that borrows from a 24 x 48 in. polyptych, or series of five-panel paintings. It also contains a poem that obliquely speaks to the farce of guarantees & the climate of epistemological certainty that reigns in an era of, or from the corpse of, truth & verity itself. If you're still reading this, you may want to read below.
An ars poetica if you will—The Stout Industrial Co. t-shirt exemplifies an enduring engagement with (though solutionless) TEXT & IMAGE.
The interaction between the visual & typographical cybernetic dimensions, & most especially the oscillation between clarity (whether in text or image) & semantic or formal discombobulation or illegibility, resist assimilation, radiate with a volatility deemed dangerous.
We try & join that combinatory play, juxtaposing radical borrowings & dipping ins to & outs, in rhythms that open small schisms in the colossus, that homogenized harmony & assimilationist model said to account for everyone & everything.
